2020
The First Date
Once upon a time... during a global pandemic (on November 5, 2020) an American girl named Kelly and a South African / Irish guy named David met each other for a first date. After talking online beforehand, they discovered they had mutual friends who both said to them separately, 'I know the perfect person for you!' David asked Kelly to go for a walk in Cappagh Park and Barna Woods in Galway that turned into a 2+ hour stroll and the rest is history! (Don't worry they stayed within the 5K radius bubble so no rules were broken...that day)
2021
Milestones
David and Kelly quickly became 'official' in January! As a couple, they achieved lots of milestones together that year. Kelly qualified as a solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales as well as graduated with her Masters in International Human Rights Law from the University of Galway. David started a physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation clinic, West Coast Physio, from the ground up and has continued to grow his successful business. Kelly and David continue to support each other every step of the way to reach their professional goals.
2022
Family Fun
As the world reopened, David and Kelly were able to share their passion for traveling together and host many of their family and friends from around the world. ✈️ They also enjoyed their first full year of living together and all the adventures that come with it!
2023
Home Sweet Home
After navigating all the challenges that face first-time homebuyers, Kelly and David eventually found their first home in Ireland! They went sale agreed in April 2023 and received the keys that July. Unfortunately before moving in, they lost David's father Bill Gow tragically and unexpectedly. RIP and Cheers to you Bill, our Life of the Party🍷 David and Kelly worked through their grief by training and running a half marathon in Dingle later that autumn. David surprised Kelly by taking her away for a relaxing spa weekend at a castle and getting down on one knee! No brainer here - she said 'Yes!' 💍 While 2023 was a bit of a roller coaster filled with highs and lows, Kelly and David held on to each other to enjoy the ride we call life.
2024
Goodbye Summer, Our Forever Friend
In the spring of 2024, Kelly and David had to say goodbye to their beautiful dog Summer. For 13 wonderful years, Summer traveled with Kelly everywhere she went from Virginia, Colorado, and then to Ireland. David admired the close bond Kelly and Summer had, and Summer eventually approved of Daddy David. The three of them shared so many adventures together from forest trails, car trips, and beach days. We love you and will always miss you and your tap taps, our sweet Summer 🐾 Summer will still be with us in our hearts when we say 'I do' next year!
