What is the dress code?
The attire for our wedding is formal or black tie optional. Kilts from any clan are welcome! We also recommend bringing a light shawl or jacket as the ceremony may be outside. For the other weekend events, please feel free to wear cocktail or casual attire whatever is comfortable!
Tell me more about the Welcome Party and Day Two?
We are kicking off the wedding weekend with a Welcome Party! This is a chance to welcome all our family and friends to Ireland over drinks, music and a bit of 'craic'. The Day Two is an Irish tradition which is an informal get-together after the 'Big Day' to enjoy some food and extra quality time. Both events are optional.
Are children allowed to attend?
Our wedding is adults only. However, kids are more than welcome to join for the Welcome Party and the Day Two BBQ. Please note for those staying at Markree Castle, the venue does not permit children unsupervised after 10 p.m.
What time should I arrive?
The wedding ceremony starts promptly at 2:30 p.m. and we would recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes in advance. For guests checking into Markree Castle on Saturday, May 17th, check-in starts from 2:00 p.m.
What is the weather in Ireland?
'Never cast a clout until May is out!' As you'd expect, the weather in Ireland is typically rainy so don't forget your raincoat! The temperatures in spring range from 7°C (45°F) lows to 15°C (59.0°F) highs. The days are long with sunrise beginning around 5:30 a.m. and sunset approximately 9:30 p.m.
Do you have a registry?
Your presence at our wedding is our greatest gift! Should you choose to honor us with another gift, there will be a card box and gift area at the castle reception. If you would prefer to support our honeymoon adventures, we have signed up for HoneyFund.
